Medal Design:
Bronze cross pattée with slightly flared arms.
The obverse bears the inscription “NA POLU CHWAŁY 1920” (“On the Field of Glory 1920”) with the crowned Polish eagle at the center.
The reverse displays a sword within a laurel wreath and the inscription “WALECZNYM” (“To the Valiant”), along with the engraved serial number 9690 on the upper arm.
This example was produced by the renowned Warsaw jeweler J. Knedler, one of the principal manufacturers of Polish state awards during the interwar period.
Condition:
Very good condition with an attractive, even patina throughout.
All inscriptions and details remain clear and sharp.
The cross retains its original suspension ring and period ribbon, showing minor wear consistent with age.

Historical and Collectible Significance:
The Cross of Valour (Krzyż Walecznych) was established by Marshal Józef Piłsudski in 1920 to recognize acts of bravery in combat.
Early serial-numbered examples produced by J. Knedler were awarded to soldiers of the Polish Army during the Polish–Soviet War (1919–1921).
Crosses with serial numbers under 10,000 are especially sought after, representing the first waves of awards made directly under government order.
